When Mickey Bell produced his first show, little did he know the doors that would open for his unique approach to a Southern Gospel radio show and it would last one year. “I knew first of all that I wanted to be myself. Too many times we present our field of music in a strict way and if we dare poke fun or laugh at someone in the industry then we are simply being non-Christian. In fact, I really think God finds himself laughing many times at the things we do in the Southern Gospel industry. He certainly gets blamed for a lot of it,” says Bell. The approach Bell takes in producing his show is very scary for some but funny for others. His time spent traveling and playing the music has afforded him the relationships and the “inside” scoop of what is taking place in the industry. The scary part comes in when he starts sharing what he knows. “Mickey has a problem in speaking before he thinks about what he is saying,” says Wendy Bell, “But what some may call offensive, others call great radio.” After one year, TWGM is becoming a very popular program that is being played on more secular stations than Southern Gospel stations. The show is free to air and is a fast paced program with a lot of opportunities to laugh while enjoying the great sounds of Southern Gospel Music. As part of their one year celebration, TWGM will draw the names of four listeners from those who register online to attend this year’s National Quartet Convention. In addition to tickets, other listeners will win free CDs and DVDs from their favorite artists.
Catch the excitement and join in on the ministry and fun by taking the time to listen to TWGM now!

The Classic Four will be featured in Lavergne, TN, Memorial Weekend services, May 30 at 10:00 a.m….a little more on an excerpt from our story on the group…
What better way to describe a quartet that consists of award-winning vocalists and musicians..respected for decades, individually,..and now collectively bringing that enormous culmination of experience and inspiration to the stage…Classic!..It’s definitely a storm..a feeling of revival, because this group has certainly revived some stages recently!..This writer was fortunate enough to witness the contagious energy of this harmonious group of men in a recent concert at Father’s House Church in Nashville. Roy Bray, not only plays piano but provides Baritone vocals, as well. For over 40 years, Bray has felt the continued calling and thrill of this tradition that has been a part of his life since his youth..He was raised and bred on the music of the church, a lifestyle that has become his mainstay, and he continues to have the desire to keep his music heritage alive. Bray certainly keeps the ivories alive in a concert! His enthusiasm is both contagious and uplifting. Basing the group in Ashland, Tennessee, has provided the group a convenient location and opened doors in music-loving churches, such as Nashville’s Christ Church. Tenor, Tank Tackett, has been a long-standing member of the church, and the group was recently well-received in concert there. Tackett has been a beloved Tenor with the legendary Statemen Quartet, the Envoys, the Rebels, and has sang on many projects, including ones with Michael W. Smith, Carmen, The Judds, Charlie Daniels, and Dolly Parton. One special highlight of the Father’s House concert was the moving performance of a Tackett tradition, “I Know a Man Who Can.”..What a blessing! Bass singer, Joe Fowler, owned the Southerners Quartet, traveled with the Gerald Payne Family, and sang with Squire Parsons (Redeemed) for 7 years. He also sang with the Jubilee Quartet at the Smokey Mountain Jubilee in Pigeon Forge, Tn. for 15 years. Fowler’s smooth Bass contribution to the group should be a model for any aspiring quartet. Lead Singer, Bruce Campbell, traveled with Gladheart and the Sheperdsmen Quartet prior to joining the Classic Four. His love for Gospel music started at a young age, and his passion is still evident after 16 years of extensive travel in the music ministry. Lead vocals, such as Campbell’s, provide a solid foundation for this sought-after sound..that is crisp, clean, and refined..As the Classic 4 criss-cross the country performing, they continue to ignite a fire…one of revival, traditions, memories..the spirit of Southern Gospel music…the smooth harmonious sound of 4 men that have honed their skills for decades….The only other appropriate name for this group would be Class Act..but Classic 4 will do just fine!
To catch a Classic 4 concert, check out their dates here: http://www.theclassic4.com
After six weeks, “One Voice” of Marion, IL remains firmly at the top with their poignant and beautiful “Everybody Needs Jesus”. Recently, a “One Voice” fan mentioned, “Everybody Needs Jesus” is a message of God’s grace and reminds us what God’s son, Jesus, did for us on the cross. It truly confirms that “Everybody Needs Jesus.”

One Voice formed in 2003, delivers 40 plus years of combined Southern Gospel experience to the audience. Each member of One Voice feels blessed to have shared the stage with some of the industry’s most talented artists. They are thrilled that music lovers enjoy their rendition of “Everybody Needs Jesus”, and are honored to bring the song’s blessing to listeners and worshipers.

Pastor Dwayne Sovdi of Chauncey Church of God, Chauncey, IL says: “These guys are some of the most sincere gentlemen that I have ever met. They have such a heart for the lost and focus not on entertaining, but on ministering to people everywhere. They give God the glory for everything that they do and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a group who truly lives what they sing.”
Glenn Davis, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Sumrall, MS congratulates them, in his comment: “We have had One Voice in our church several times and it would be impossible for me to express fully the blessing they were to us.

These guys are great singers with servant hearts who glorify the Savior. If you have an opportunity to hear them or have them in concert you will be greatly blessed. Congratulations, guys!”

Bell has been affiliated with Southern Gospel music his entire life as a pianist, producer, and beloved radio personality. His broadcasting career garnered him 8 Associated Press awards, including “Best Produced Show” and “Best Produced Special Program” at CBS Affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama. Bell’s program not only features plenty of Gospel music, but also artist interviews, giveaways, and lots of impromptu humor. Bell says that he wants to bring fun to Gospel Music, and strives to keep his broadcasts upbeat and spiritual along with smiles and laughter. He attended his first concert when he was two weeks old, went on to become a gospel pianist, later became a DJ, and continues to enlarge his musical portfolio and his fan base – he never tires of music. From his first job at age 14 as DJ for WVSM in Rainsville, Alabama, to performing with Gospel greats such as New Ground, The Steeles, Tony Gore & Majesty, and The Nelons, Bell continues to make huge strides in the industry as a creative, multi-talented innovator in Southern Gospel music. With his recent Diamond Awards top 5 nomination for the “Paul Heil Award in Broadcasting,” Bell continues to prove he is an all-around favorite industry mover and shaker. Bell is currently the Sr. Pastor of Union Hill Baptist Church in Bessemer, Al., and says that being a part of The Union Hill Church has inspired and blessed him. Rod Burton’s solo tour publicist, Chris Unthank, of Southern Spin Entertainment, makes the announcement today concerning Burton’s solo ministry. “Due to time constraints with Rod’s solo ministry, YMR Music Productions and the Branson Gospel Music Convention, and his family, Rod felt the need to step down from the group in order to focus his energies on those areas of his life.”

Burton notes, “I’m grateful for my time with Hinson Revival. I grew up listening to Hinson music and thoroughly enjoyed the time I had to minister with it on stage. There is nothing like Hinson music. I hope it always continues to bless people with its message. My family and I will continue to support Eric and April in friendship.”

Burton continues his work with Darrell Webb and New Hope Music Productions, based in Nashville, TN. “The Difference” is the first project released by the record company and includes guest background vocals by popular Sunday Edition members, Chris and Amy Marie Unthank, and powerful vocals from Russ Taff.
