Opry Vet, Stonewall Jackson, to Headline March 13 Benefit Concert.
An array of “Gospel Greats” will take the stage with Grand Ole Opry Vet, Stonewall Jackson, on March 13 for a fundraiser to benefit The Fathers House Church in Lavergne, TN in greater Nashville. The all-star line-up includes Bill Dykes, (a former Cathedrals baritone singer)…former Statemen Quartet member, Tank Tackett, and various successful Gospel soloists and groups such as Judah, New Vision Quartet, Garland Craft (formerly with the Oak Ridge Boys), Garry Valentine (formerly with the Journeymen Quartet), The Baxter Brothers, & Don Frost & Friends. Hosts of the show are no strangers to the stage. Pastor of the church, Rev. Bobby Howard, was founder of the Bobby Howard Singers and realized much national success with regular performances on the PTL Club and travels throughout the country with his music ministry. Rev. Howard’s brother, Dempsey Howard, also traveled with the Bobby Howard Singers, in addition to tours with the Segos & Naomi, the Telestials, the Countrymen, the Southmen, Jerry & The Singing Goffs, to name a few. His successful singing career carried over into authoring several books; thus, becoming a respected publisher and most recently Dempsey Howard created a Gospel music video site, Southern Stage, that has become a favorite place for Southern Gospel music lovers on the internet. All of these artists and more are to share the stage with Stonewall Jackson, Opry veteran and successful country music artist for many decades.
The concert will be held, Saturday, March 13, 2010, 7:00pm -11:00pm at Rock Springs Elementary School, 1000 Waldron Road, Lavergne, TN (Nashville)
The concert is free, but donations will be accepted.
